It’s Time for Change
Myra Wallace
Publisher/Editor-in-Chief

myraOur mission for Beauty Come Forth 2011 is to help women transition into greatness through an innovative approach to their inner beauty, while offering candid advice on how to enhance your outer self. Each quarter we will address and suggest simple and straightforward solutions through practical application to enhance your physical, engage your mental, and inspire your spiritual, as they relate to beauty and the process to arrive at a new innovative you.

To begin the steps of innovation one requires forgiveness & acceptance of self and of others. You must get in alignment with God and allow yourself to be placed at the forefront of the agenda, so that you can operate in divine purpose and be of service to others while achieving a life of true abundance. To get started, I decided to pull exerts from my Beauty Come Forth book along with some thought provoking questions from my accompanying workbook (check out the BCF Blog for questions).

I hope I have your attention, because here is where it gets interesting! If you want to continue to live in a bubble of denial that ignores the warning signs around you, now is the time to jump ship. If not, I’ll need you to stay tuned in to this year’s Beauty Come Forth Quarterly magazine. Your journey through the lessons presented here will be a time to search out some answers as to how you can break the strongholds the enemy has built to keep you in bondage to the rules of beauty that constantly change. Beauty Come Forth intends to give you practical ways to enhance the classic, never-to-grow-old, beautiful you. From healthy eating to face beating, Beauty Come Forth covers it all. Enjoy the journey. I’ll see you at the other end.

It’s only fitting to begin by taking a look at what our authentic beauty looks, feels, and acts like in order to  successfully chart our way to a destiny I call F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. As an introduction to some and a reminder to others, the FABULOUS you see spelled out at the top of this website represents an acronym of self declaration that God gave me while writing my book. It simply means; Forgive yourself, Accept yourself, Believe in yourself, Understand yourself, Love yourself, Organize yourself, Unleash yourself, and Salute yourself. So for all intensive purposes we will begin at the beginning, addressing the issues of forgiveness and acceptance and navigate our way to a place where we can unleash and salute our new innovated authentic self.

Martin Luther King, Jr. said it best when he said, “Forgiveness is not an occasional act; it is a permanent attitude.”

What is it about human nature that we expect others to forgive us for offenses that we commit against them, yet we ourselves are harboring resentment towards another, often going back as far as grade school? You still can’t stand that girl who stole your first boyfriend. Truth be told, you didn’t really even like the boy, but you press the issue and make a big deal about it because you want to argue that it’s just the principle of the matter. Well, yes it is the principle, but has that same principle helped you to move on in life and get the healing you need? I would wager to say, if the thought of it still bothers you, probably not. What you have done is allowed that thing to grow like a cancer inside you, reproducing more and more offenses each time you see that girl or someone who vaguely resembles her. If her name was Mary, you’ve made up in your mind that all Mary’s are boyfriend stealers. If she had long hair, all girls with long hair think they’re cute. If she had green eyes, you began to distrust all women with green eyes. As time goes by, you realize that you are holding or have held a grudge against the majority of the women who have crossed your path. It’s time, no its way past the time for you to let it go. Now letting it go does not mean you need to pretend it never happened, but it does mean you must get yourself to a point where remembering the offense does not make you hurt or angry all over again.

Who hurt you? What did they do? Where did the offense begin? Was it that unwanted divorce, that abortion you had, your addiction to drugs, the relative that molested you, your promiscuity that led to a venereal disease, the affair with that married man, your first jail sentence, the children you had out of wedlock, your shacking up with your lover, your nude pictures sprayed across the internet, the series of lies you tell to your husband, friends and family, years of lying on your taxes? No matter what you did, said, or thought that catapulted you into an action that caused you to compromise who you really are, forgive yourself and the offender then, let it go (Exert from  Beauty Come Forth, Chapter 5- Forgive Yourself).

“Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” - World Health Organization

Many are familiar with the popular serenity prayer. “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The strength to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” I’d like to give some thought to a couple of lines from that poem which states, “Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change.” Now take a look at the first line: “God, grant me the strength to change the things I can.” Somewhere between those lines lives the sole purpose of this chapter, where you will discover the freedom in change and the power in acceptance.

Okay, so in your mind you were supposed to be a size 5, two inches taller, thicker hair, longer legs, smaller waistline, bigger boobs, and smaller feet. You’ve spent most of your conscious life summing up the things you would like to change about your body. Much of that time was spent complaining about what you look like, rarely celebrating the things that are working for you.

Who you are, is who God made you to be. You fit the bill exactly to accomplish the things only you can accomplish at this moment in time. There is no one like you, even if you are an identical twin. Accept all the little nuances of who you are. Accept your height, weight, and shoe size. Accept the texture of your hair, the shape of your nose, and your dress size. Accept your round butt, flat butt, or no butt. If you want to grow from here, start from here. Sure, you may desire to make some changes in the areas that you can, but you must realize you can’t start from where you are not. You must make a conscious effort to accept where you are in order to begin the metamorphous to get to your beautiful place.

There may be parts of your physical body, which may require some change as it pertains to you living a long, healthy life. It is at this place where you call on the wisdom and strength from God and your will power to make these changes. Remember you can do all things through Christ, who gives you the strength. This declaration in scripture is a truth you want to hold onto during your journey to improve, accept, or change certain areas in your life. The “all things” means exactly that—all things. It’s all-inclusive. It includes the small to the tall challenges in your life. The struggles that you believe are unique to your situation down to the issues that challenge the masses. God is not a respecter of persons. He doesn’t show any favoritism. In every nation, He accepts those who fear Him and do what is right. He does not put any one person above another, if He will do it for one, He will do it for you (Exert from Beauty Come Forth, Chapter 6- Accept Yourself).

So there you have it, the beginning to a beautiful ending. If you want to read more on forgiveness and acceptance, the Beauty Come Forth book and workbook are available, online at www.myrawallace.com . See you next issue! bug
