Reveal Yourself!

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Matthew 5:14

“Come out; come out, where ever you are!”  Those are words yelled out while playing a childhood game.  They simply mean “Reveal yourself.”  Many of you have faded into the background for various reasons- maybe out of fear, protection, or maybe because others said or made you feel as if you held no value. You’ve tucked yourself away- no longer allowing the real you to surface.  This has to come to an end.  The real you- the whole you is needed.  Come out!

Are you living life as a masquerade ball- hiding behind a mask- pretending to be someone you are not?  Perhaps you are existing just as the person who lay comatose is the hospital- alive but not really living out your true function.  Perhaps you have become like a captured soldier who is now listed as MIA (Missing In Action).  You were there, but now you’re not. Something captured you and forced you into an inner prison.  No one can find you.  You can barely locate yourself.  You’re trapped behind invisible bricks designed to keep you from freely being you- keeping you from freely giving what God gave you to give.  Don’t you miss you?  Come out!

The world is in a dark place right now.  Although you may be experiencing your own darkness, you have a light within that breaks through darkness.  You have something on the inside of you that once revealed will change the world around you.  Now is the time for you to break through the darkness.  Now is the time to unleash the internal light and power of God within you.  You, your gifts, and talents are needed!  You can no longer afford to stay hidden.

This week, stop hiding.  Begin to ask God to show you where your hiding spots are and ask Him to reveal you.  As He reveals you to you, get ready to share your light with the world. bug
