Defying The Odds

Wow, what an exciting time to be alive. Yeah, I know, the world’s economy has issues, you turn on the news and it’s mostly bad news, and people all over the globe seem to be in financial and personal crisis. What’s so good about living in these seemingly stormy times that we are living in? This is a good time to defy the odds. This is a good time to show that you are not defined by your circumstances, but instead are defined by something much deeper and greater. This is a time to embrace your dreams and show what you are made of. What God has put on the inside of you will alter your circumstances, impact the world, and give people the hope they so desperately need. This is the time for you to arise!

You may have been hit by several storms but see yourself as a palm tree. Strong winds blow and the palm tree bends because of its flexibility. However, you rarely see a palm tree break. It defies the storm. Trees that are bigger and appear stronger are often uprooted and tossed. Not the Palm tree. It has a cool sway and swagger to it. After it blows and bends in the wind, it arises back to a standing position. It is time for you to arise back to your standing position.

This week don’t be defined by the storms in your life, defy them. You will not break because of the strong winds. You may sway. You may bend and touch the ground but you will not stay down. You are arising to a standing position and you will stand strong!

“The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible].” Psalm 92:12 Amplified
